C'est la vie
35 Years and we are done
New Owners take over Saturday 30th May
On Friday 29th May 18:30 we would like to invice you all for a farewell gathering outside our shop for pictures and refreshments
Nothing lasts forever
After 35 years of 'serving the community,' ranging from customers, neighbours, friends, and family, I hope we have served you all well.
My parents opened the business on 1st December 1979. From a small 1,000 square foot piece of land, to tripling in size, the business has dramatically grown over the decades.
I can honestly say that I have also grown up with the business, as have most of my family. We used the shelves as climbing frames and played cops and robbers. The shop was our ultimate playground, except the ice cream was free.
Though not completely free, we all contributed to running the tills and replenishing stock. It is one of the reasons that brought our family so close together.
So whats next?
We have been searching for a new family to take over the business, and we hope they continue to 'serve the community.'
Subsequently, my mama and papa shall be retired, but that won't stop them from working. They will continue to actively give back to the community.
As for me? I intend to catch up on some beauty sleep and then see what awaits me.
Finally, we would like to take this opportunity and express our deepest gratitude to those who have supported us through the years, and hope that you continue to support independent businesses. Without you, we wouldn't of had a business to run.
Lastly, on Friday 29th May at 18:30, we ask you all to join us for a gathering outside the shop, taking pictures and sharing stories over refreshments. We want to leave the business with fond memories before we officially close this chapter of our lives.
Not much more to say, its definitely been emotional.
See you all around,
